Grammy Nomination

This album featuring a collaboration between the Győr Symphonic Band and the wind orchestra of Széchenyi István University has been listed on the Grammy Awards nomination list in the Classical Instrumental Solo category — a major international milestone for the ensemble. The recording, released by the UK-based label SOMM Recordings, highlights British clarinettist Peter Cigleris as the featured soloist.

Under the musical leadership of conductors László Marosi and Szabó Ferenc, the Győr Symphonic Band — which includes current and former university students and talented young musicians — performs a selection of clarinet concertos on the album, blending world-class artistry with academic musical excellence.

Being named on the Grammy nomination list recognizes the ensemble’s artistic achievement and brings significant global attention to the university’s musicians and their collaborators.
